The short version: your €250 holds your place and is returned on request, in full, at any point before you approve your confirmed itinerary. We take no other money before that approval. If we can't deliver the trip, you get the €250 back immediately.
The Adventure Travel Co. is a founding-stage venture operated by its founder, Steyn van Brakel. A formal legal entity is being established ahead of the first balance payments; this page will name it, with its registration number, as soon as it exists. Until then, the only money we will ask for is the refundable deposit described below.
The €250 per person deposit holds your places on a stated departure while we confirm every element of your itinerary — guide, boat, cabin, transfers. It is not a booking fee and it is not consumed by our work: it sits against your trip price and is deducted from the balance if you proceed.
The deposit is refundable in full, on request, at any time before you approve your confirmed itinerary — no reason needed, no forms. Refunds go back to the original payment method within five business days. After you approve the confirmed itinerary and pay the balance, the cancellation terms in your booking agreement apply instead; you will have seen and signed those before paying anything further.
Balance payments happen only after (a) you approve your confirmed itinerary, and (b) we have put a booking agreement in place with you that includes the traveller protections required by applicable package-travel law, including protection of your payments. We will not take a euro of balance before both are true. If we cannot offer that agreement, we cancel and refund your deposit in full.
If we cancel a departure for any reason — including not reaching the minimum party, or our own judgment that we cannot run the week to the standard on the page — every deposit is refunded in full and immediately.
Participation requires travel insurance with winter-sports and off-piste cover; a checklist is part of your pre-departure pack, and we verify cover before departure. On the mountain and on the water, the guide's and skipper's safety decisions are final — including changing or cancelling a day's plan. Alternatives are always offered; refunds are not owed for weather-driven changes to the daily programme.
Your quote itemizes everything, including our organization fee of 18% of trip value. Quotes state their own validity window. If a supplier price changes between quote and confirmation, we absorb differences up to 2% and re-confirm with you beyond that — you always see the final number before the deposit converts.
